Thanksgiving is the first Thanksgiving episode of Family Guy.
As the whole gang comes into the house for Thanksgiving, Joe comes in with Bonnie whom are very depressed as Thanksgiving marks the anniversary of their son Kevin's death in Iraq. Peter tries to cheer him up but it doesn't work. Finally as the gang sits down getting ready to eat to their surprise Joe's son Kevin knocks on the door to be invited in. Everyone welcomes him in as Peter gives him a big Thanksgiving meal. The gang wants to hear his story in Iraq and Kevin tells the gang the story. Afterwards they finish the meal and want to play some football. Peter playfully throws the ball to Chris. As Joe and Adam West pick teams Joe and Kevin get to talking more. As Kevin remarks about his experience in Iraq after his death, Joe finds out he is lying about his experiences and wants to arrest him.
Kevin rants on about how bad the war is and how it shouldn't have started. His admittance horrifies everyone present including Ida who explains to him that he is still not supposed to abandon his duties. But then Joe says he is still breaking the law, Kevin explains that he also broke the law once. In a flashback with a young Kevin, Kevin reminds him of the time he had to stop and chase a burglar who was actually trying to help his family from starving. As Joe almost arrested him he realized he was wrong he explained that the law was just words on paper and let him go. Kevin would remember that moment for the rest of his life as Joe decides not to arrest him. As the gang finally all agreed someone dressed as Kevin came through the door saying Kevin was an impostor Peter remarked by saying we don't have enough time and the episode ends.
