Woodstock is a character from the newspaper comic strip Peanuts. He is a little yellow bird who is Snoopy's best friend. He was introduced in a 1966 storyline in which Snoopy had to care for a nest of bird eggs. When the eggs hatched and the baby birds flew away, one of the birds, who had a lot of trouble flying, stayed behind and befriended Snoopy. The bird, notably very poor at flying, was eventually given the name Woodstock in 1970.
